Nutritionists work in a variety of different settings depending on what type of nutritionist the person is as well as the field they’re interested in.
A person interested in athletics and sports nutrition might work for a private gym, a university sports program or a company that makes nutritional supplements for athletes.
If you are interested in medical treatment for seniors, a retirement or nursing home might be a place to look for a job. If your interest is pediatrics and children, then school districts may be looking to hire you.
A nutritionist interested in helping people overcome eating disorders could work as part of the staff at a clinic designed to help people with these issues.
Nutritionists may also work at fast food franchises, restaurant chains and government agencies.
Other places nutritionists work at include hospitals, food labs, kitchens, offices and classrooms. Some are also self-employed and work with their own practice.
